Keeping it Small and Simple

Don’t just stay at home

If your tired of the endless hot air from Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain? Then look at the alternatives. They do exist, although mainstream media does their best to keep them out of the spotlight.

Don’t just stay at home on election day. Vote, it’s your right. There are candidates who propose real change, not just hope. There are candidates that do listen to the will of the people. For example, Ralph Nader. Another candidate you could look into is Mike Gravel. Note that both these candidates state exactly how they stand on important issues.

I personally have a lot of respect for Ralph Nader.

  1. Thanks for the link. I had also noticed that there were a few issues were Gravel strays away from Libertarian principles. Not that a necessarily disagree with him on those issues.

  2. It’s not so much that he strays from a lot of issues, it’s that he strays from libertarians on important issues. The libertarian movement, after all, was fortified by economists, and economics has always been the most important aspect of the libertarian platform.

  4. Thanks!

I agree with you that Gravel strays on issues that are important to libertarians. I’d say he’s still part democrat.

What I do like is that he’s at least come out to say exactly where he stands. It means that *if* he were to be elected president you can hold him accountable. How could you hold Obama or Clinton accountable since they are never clear about their policies?

Hell, I strongly disagree with McCain’s 100 years in Iraq, but at least he’s honest about his intentions. Clinton and Obama dodge the issue. I think Obama’s plan is to “leave Iraq but keep the troops there” or something similar. Very weird. And Hillary is a just a corporate product. Once in power, she’ll do as instructed by the ones who have real power.
